The Centre has urged states to allow fair price shops (ration shops) to remain open all days of the month and to operate beyond restricted hours during local lockdowns. The advisory comes following representations that during the current lockdown in some states, timings of ration shops have been curtailed due to which beneficiaries might not be getting enough time to collect it.
