Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, a 1985 batch IPS officer serving as CISF DG, was appointed CBI director on Tuesday. He was chosen from a shortlist of three officers — the other two being SSB chief Kumar Rajesh Chandra and special secretary in home ministry V S K Kaumudi — cleared by the PM-led selection committee on Monday.
